Proposal without RFP (request for proposal)

Dec 09

At the moment I’m working on a proposal to provide membership and portal system for one of the famous events in UAE. It’s my staff duty to prepare the required proposals but sometimes I have to prepare them myself for the prompt requests. Frown

Really writing the proposal for customers is a strange headache for the IT companies. Mostly you are not aware of the customer budget and you have not received the RFP from them!

Imagine, you don’t know the scope of the work and there are a lot of options that you can include to the proposal. Customer should send the request which includes detailed specifications for the desired product (RFP). But unfortunately nowadays they just request the product (we need online shop, we need HRMS, we need accounting software ...) and you cannot ask more and usually they are not able to provide you more detail due to lack of the specific knowledge or because of having the wrong marketing strategy in their mind.

What do you think? What’s your solution at this situation? Look forward to receiving your comments, ideas and solutions.
